Facts and Figures
Our Coalition believes the facts and figures don't lie: Relying heavily on the statewide property tax to fund education doesn't work, isn't fair and isn't financially sustainable over the long term.
Since its inception in 1999, the Coalition has battled on many fronts against the statewide property tax to fund education, including in the courts and the Legislature. It also has undertaken studies in-house and also hired the highly respected firm of Almy, Gloudemans, Jacobs and Denne (AGJD), which concluded that it's "impossible" to implement the state property tax in a proportionate and constitutional manner.
